The Alliance for the Arts

This organization is dedicated to advocacy and promoting all of the arts in New York City . It publishes guides to the arts and influences cultural policy through studies highlighting the economic importance of the arts industry.

The American Symphony Orchestra League (ASOL)

The ASOL provides leadership and service to American orchestras while communicating to the public the value and importance of orchestras and the music they perform. The League serves nearly 1,000 member symphony, chamber, youth, and collegiate orchestras of all sizes. The League provides a wealth of services, information, and educational opportunities to its members.

The Arts Education Partnership (AEP)

AEP is a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrate and promote the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child and in the improvement of America's schools. The Partnership includes over 140 organizations that are national in scope and impact. It also includes state and local partnerships focused on influencing educational policies and practices to promote quality arts education. Partnership organizations affirm the central role of imagination, creativity and the arts in culture and society; the power of the arts to enliven and transform education and schools; and collective action through partnerships as the means to place the arts at the center of learning.

The Center for Arts Education (CAE)

This organization is committed to restoring, stimulating, and sustaining quality arts education as an essential part of every child’s education. It identifies, funds, and supports exemplary partnerships and programs that demonstrate how the arts contribute to learning and student achievement. The Center is dedicated to influencing educational and fiscal policies that will support arts education in all of the City’s public schools.

The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA)

DCLA (commonly referred to as “DCA”) is dedicated to supporting and strengthening New York City's vibrant cultural life. Among their primary missions is to ensure adequate public funding for non-profit cultural organizations, both large and small throughout the five boroughs.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) helps artists turn inspiration into art by giving more money and support to individual artists and arts organizations than any other comparable institution in the U.S. Its goal is to provide the time and resources for the creative mind and the artistic spirit to think, work, and prosper.

New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)

The goal of NYSCA is to bring high-quality artistic programs to the citizens of the state through supporting the activities of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. NYSCA makes over 2700 grants each year to arts organizations in every discipline throughout the state. Its Arts in Education Program is of particular interest to arts education practitioners.

OPERA America

This nonprofit service organization for opera leads and serves the entire opera community, supporting the creation, presentation, and enjoyment of opera. It provides artistic services, information, technical, and administrative services, and education, audience development, and community services.

Project ARTS

Project ARTS is a Chancellor’s initiative designed to support and enhance instructional programs in art, music, dance and theater, K-12. Each school will receive a distinct Project ARTS allocation based on pupil enrollment.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG)

TCG, the national organization for the American theatre, offers a wide array of services in line with its mission: to strengthen, nurture and promote the professional not-for-profit American theatre. They include: funding, professional development, advocacy, research, and publications. TCG has a national job listings journal online and on paper, Artsearch, which is by subscription only.
