NYC Arts in Education Roundtable
eChalk Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Welcome to the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable’s (the Roundtable) online community provided by eChalk. In order to join the Roundtable’s online community all users are required to agree to this acceptable use policy (AUP) (“Agreement”). This agreement explains the policies that govern your access to and use of our Website. By accessing or using our Website, you agree to these terms (collectively the "Policy and Agreement"), as the Roundtable may modify it from time to time. If you do not agree to accept and comply with the Policy and Agreement, do not access or use our Website.

ABOUT THE ROUNDTABLE

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable enables arts organizations providing arts education in the New York City schools and community to meet and share information about the field. The Roundtable also provides information about arts education to the media, government, and general public.

Established in 1992, the Roundtable serves major cultural institutions as well as smaller, community-based organizations. This member-driven organization began as a grass roots effort to provide support and networking opportunities for its members, as well as to improve and advance the state of arts in education. The Roundtable currently has over 100 member organizations, representing all five boroughs of New York City. The Roundtable is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership.

ABOUT eCHALK

eChalk connects administrators, teachers, students and parents within schools and districts in a secure online environment that’s designed to streamline instruction, communication and professional development. eChalk’s easy-to-use and customizable tools — including websites, student-safe email, online classrooms, blogs, and groups — allow schools to address individual learning needs, engage students and cultivate 21st century skills.

Using eChalk, schools and districts can:

·         Create compelling online communities

·         Enable and support collaboration for professional development, and

·         Expand teaching and learning activities “beyond the building” to engage students and parents.

The eChalk system is designed primarily for use by K-12 schools and districts and therefore includes various language, vocabulary, and terminology in certain areas specifically related to school operations. Users should not let these situations cause any alarm or concern as the Roundtable looks forward to exploring the use of the eChalk system to support its program and activities.
